Toddler Nursery (2 – 3 years)

Nursery Nurses: Beth, Emma, Laura, Sam, Sarah, Sue & Terri

The aim of this nursery is to provide a loving and caring atmosphere within a stimulating and structured environment, which will aid your child’s development with all aspects of the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Early Learning concepts are introduced in our stimulating environment by careful use of colour, texture, light, sound & movement.  Children are encouraged to explore from a secure routine which gives them confidence and creates boundaries which prepare them for the regime of nursery education in readiness for school.   The toddler room include a large area for large group play such as construction and other physical activities such as musical instruments, singing and dancing. An area for creative play, such as; play trays, painting, gluing & sticking, water, sand and dough.  A quiet area and reading area for those who require a bit of peace and quiet in a hectic day or still require a nap. A home from home corner for activities such as dressing up and role play.

Prior to your child’s third birthday they will be introduced at a time when they are ready to the 3-5yr room for short periods, we will of course discuss this with you beforehand. We aim to ensure that this transition is a smooth and happy one and that your child adapts to this slight change in routine as seamlessly as possible and remains as happy in their new room as they have been in all other areas.

We will supply a well-balanced hot meal every day and fresh drinking water is permanently available as well as midmorning and afternoon snacks and drinks.

We have a natural garden and outside play area which is designed to foster an interest in the world around us and to encourage children to climb and use their bodies.  We share this access to fresh air and space with the babies and ask all parents to provide weather-appropriate clothing to ensure that all children can continue to enjoy it.  In addition your child will be taken out for walks to local parks and shops occasionally with your consent.
